Purple Rain
Purple Rain was founded in autumn 2000 by Philip Bölter (electric guitar, born:1988) and Florian Bölter (bass, born:1985). Katharina C. was singing, Carolina B. played the drums. The setlist included famous songs like "Sweet Home Alabama", "Born to be wild" and "Heart of Gold". In 2001 the two girls missed some rehearsals, so the band disbanded. Florian played together with some new musicians and they decided to take Philip into the band. The name "Purple Rain" was taken again and songs from Deep Purple

Hell to Heaven
Epic tale of love-borne thirst in this stirring song about a struggle for redemption. Powerful, contrasting shades of rock, Tender, caressing acoustic, with ambient, silky vocals - expressions of a romantic, honest heart, contend with violent cravings - blistering guitars and savage drums (Mark Schulman of Cher, Pink). A world ravished, torn between love and hate, the battlefield rages in apocalyptic proportions. As the soundscape unfolds its dark, haunting melodies, a hero ever-closer to oblivion fights, death or glory. A psychological drama plays out behind our protective walls. We may wrestle with our shame, hide our true feelings, push away the ones who get too close. We lie to ourselves. We dare not lose control. But someone comes along and unravels our elaborate maze. The resistance crumbles and from the shadows we come alive, our ‘tame' world aflame with the forces of destiny, desire, love and attraction too strong, too sweet, too real to resist. What do we do, when our hearts begin to melt? Is it so wrong? Maybe its the better part of us crying to get out. The sacred veil has been removed…. Are You Experienced
“I was performing with Mick Fleetwood one night, and a couple of songs in, some fella told me ‘..that’s Jimi’s guitar you’re playing!’ So there I am, jamming with a legend, finding out I’ve been handed Jimi Hendrix’s very own guitar! I was in heaven. Hendrix has always played a major part in my musical life, both as a writer and guitarist, so it’s a natural (though daunting) step to be recording an album of his work. Nicolo (Panzarasa) casually mentioned one day that he’d love to record a couple of Jimi Hendrix songs, so I jumped up and said “I’m your man! Let’s do it!”. Then the panic set in! He had a shock when I later told him I wanted to record nine songs - we only had one day to record! It’s a tribute to the great musicians and studio team, that we actually did it (and captured it on film). It was nerve-wracking just trying to keep up with Mr Jimi, especially after just one rehearsal! Towards the session end, our smoke machine triggered the alarms during “Fire”, so the fire brigade came and we had to evacuate the building. Out of time before the nine - we had just 5 mins left before being kicked out. It was the last track, “Are You Experienced” and I just HAD to do it. Filming stopped. We did one take, and captured the best track of the album - raw, intense, desperate, death or glory. This album is my homage to Jimi for the love and beautiful colours he shared with us during his brief time here…. Colour of Love
“ Play me a yellow melody I’ll see you inside your purple dreams Lay you down in a field of evergreen I’ve never been this deep a shade of blue….” “Love has so many colours. How can there be only one? You will find out…” “Colour of Love” is written to my son, who was then living in another country following a separation. It expresses a yearning to be together and my journey of letting go. Though I started recording it straight away, it actually took years to complete. It had a haunting, wistful feeling to it that I tried to shake off, didn’t want to accept, as it made me sad each time I approached it. The song scared me, because it demanded I re-feel and accept the painful grief of separation I’d long tried to bury, in order to finish it. Some songs do this. Still I wanted it to be open and hopeful, as it had a playful, romantic and dreamy feel about it. So it is my story. Sharing this song with you (finally!) is my greatest joy. Love has so many colours. How can there be only one? You will find out… Credits Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Drums, Mandolin - Alex Golding Piano, Hammond Organ - James Hallawell Recorded at AGM Studios and Brittania Row Engineers Alex Golding , Charlie Thomas Mixed by Alex Golding at AGM Studios Written by Alex Golding Produced by Alex Golding - Mastered by Mixea.commore
